How To Speed Up Your Morning Routine

How To Speed Up Your Morning Routine Getting ready in the morning can be a really stressful experience. Trying to look put together when on a huge time crunch is no mean feat. Luckily, there are items that can really help you out. These are products that can serve more than one purpose, standing in for more than one step in a morning routine. A Treatment Cleanser Washing your face in the morning can seem like a waste of valuable time â€" but if you go for a cleanser with added skincare benefits, you’ll get ore than just a clean canvas. If you’re dry go for CeraVe’s Hydrating Cleanser, which leaves skin smooth and soft, and if you’re oily something like Mario Badescu’s Glycolic Cleanser gently exfoliates, making you look super fresh faced. An SPF Moisturiser Applying sunscreen is one of the most important things you can do for skin health, but adding it in as another step can make it really tempting to skip. Go for a moisturiser with SPF to ensure you’re always protected â€" a great option is the Olay Regenerist Day Cream with SPF 30. A BB Cream To cut out even more steps, you can go for a BB cream.   These are designed to be a moisturiser, SPF and light coverage base in one. One of the best is Dr. Jart’s Premium BB Cream, which offers light hydration, SPF 45 and a glowy, medium coverage. A Blush And Lipstick In One The addition of colour products into a morning routine can seem daunting â€" so why not start with just one? By using a lip and cheek product, you’ll ensure your makeup looks cohesive, and a flush of colour always makes you look healthy and more awake. The RMS Lip2Cheeks are fantastic options, and they come in lots of flattering shades. A Setting Spray Plus Hydrator If you finish your makeup and find everything looks too “done,” a facial mist can really help melt products into the skin and remove any powdery finishes. Getting one with hydrating skincare benefits will ensure your complexion looks fresh all day long. The Boots Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz is a great bargainous choice.   As a bonus, it can be tossed in your bag to refresh makeup throughout the day. A Dry Shampoo And Texturiser Skipping a hair wash can be a necessity on rushed mornings.   But that shouldn’t mean your hair is a lost cause. Dry shampoo is a godsend for sucking up grease and making hair look fresher. 10 Employee Appreciation Day Ideas

10 Employee Appreciation Day Ideas The following is a guest post by Jon Hainstock of zoomshift.com   Are your employees motivated to come to work every single day? Are they excited to be working for you? If not, it could be that you aren’t showing enough appreciation. People thrive on recognition, and when their hard work goes unnoticed, resentment can build. Some people enjoy their work and find sufficient fulfillment in it. But even they would no doubt love to be recognized for their contributions, even if it only happens on occasion. With employee retention becoming a higher priority in many organizations, wouldn’t you love to hold onto your best talent instead of waiting until they permanently walk away from their role in search of new opportunities? Use the following ideas to show how much you care. Words are cheap â€" actions speak loudest. Bring in a Notable Industry Speaker Per ClearCompany, in 2016, 68% of workers said training and development was the most important workplace policy. Furthermore, 87% of millennials said professional development or career growth opportunities are very important. Are you giving your employees opportunities to learn, grow and advance in their careers? Invite an industry influencer to share valuable insights and ideas with your employees. The speaker could also be a comedian, entertainer, or life coach. Offer Recognition for a Day Use various channels to recognize an outstanding employee â€" your website, social media channels, and of course, in person. You could even hold a pizza party or an award ceremony for them. Purchase a Subscription It doesn’t have to be expensive â€" it could be a magazine subscription (on a topic they would be interested in), treats for pets, snack samples, or anything they would enjoy. This helps your employees feel appreciated on an ongoing basis. Book Live Entertainment Bring in a songwriter, band, or comedian to perform at your workplace, or take a field trip to the local entertainment venue. Make it a fun and memorable experience. Free Massage Have message therapists come in and give your employees a massage. Help them relax and destress so they remain more productive. This is especially good for workers who are hunched over a desk staring at a screen all day. Prepare a Dessert Buffet There’s nothing quite like dessert and ice cream to alleviate stress. Dessert buffets are fun and positively addicting. Just beware of overdosing on sugar. Buy Breakfast for Everyone You could even have the event catered so your team members have plenty of food options to choose from (usually a good idea in today’s health-conscious, gluten-free and allergy-prone world). Just remember to plan and send invites out in advance, or your employees will show up having already eaten and feeling full from their first meal of the day. Rent a Nice Car Rent a luxury automobile for a hardworking employee and give it to them for a week. Even if it’s just for a shorter period, your team members will love the feeling of driving in a car they may one day hope to own. Offer a Gift Certificate Gift cards allow people to purchase whatever they want at their favorite stores. Get to know your employees and find out what they like so you can give certificates that are tailored to their interests. Other good catch-all gift certificates include: A gas card. This is especially beneficial if you know your team members are commuting to work and are traveling longer distances every day. Cover their gas expenses for a couple days, or even a week. Any card that gives them access to an experience. It could be a haircut, massage, a day at the spa, or otherwise. Give Them a Day Off Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best ones. An extra day off gives your team members a chance to tend to personal matters, get caught up with their significant others, friends and family members, run errands, and so on. There are few things people love more than an extra day of freedom aside from the weekend. Final Thoughts Keep it simple, and take more time to recognize and appreciate your employees. They will love you for it, and be more likely to stay with your company over the long haul. Even a standing ovation, an acknowledgement of wins at weekly meetings, or a trophy can go a long way. . Personal Branding Interview Jim Champy - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career

Personal Branding Interview Jim Champy - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career Today, I spoke with Jim Champy, who is the Chairman of Perot Systems, a New York Times bestselling author and the author of a new book called INSPIRE!. In this interview, Jim talks about how we can inspire customers, how companies can keep their employees motivated during a recession, the importance of authenticity and transparency, and much more. What does it mean to inspire customers? To inspire a customer is to engage him or her in a way that instills exceptional loyalty. As you read the examples of companies in the INSPIRE! book, you will see that these companies operate with a higher sense of purpose than just making profits. They exhibit a sense of values that are aligned with the values and beliefs of their customersso customers keep coming back. In some cases, like that of the Big Green Egg, customers become the companys best supporters and do a lot of the companys selling. How do you keep employees motivated during a time of economic crisis? Transparency and honesty are critical in these times. Keep employees informed of whats happening, even if the news isnt good. If employees are hearing nothing, they will assume the worst. But balance reality with some vision about the future. This recession will end at some time, and some companies will emerge as stronger competitors. That will require companies to stop spending on wasteful or foolish efforts now and devote resources to innovation. Employees will stay motivated if they see their company still investing in the future. What are your tips for reignite customer loyalty? Value reignites customer loyalty, even more than price. Customers still want products or services that uniquely respond to their needs. Does your product or service deliver a compelling proposition? Today, the value a company delivers will be its key differentiator, as everyone in a market is moving to reduce price. How important are these two words: transparency and authenticity? Authenticity is a critical component of inspiring customers. Companies, implicitly or explicitly, express what they believe in. If a company gets it right, these values have great appeal to their customers. Companies like Stoneyfield Yogurt leverage their commitment to the environment to engage customers and they do it authentically. But authenticity requires that a company stay true to its values in all that it does in the formulation of its products; in its relationships with employees, customers, and suppliers; and in its operations. Transparency is part of authenticity: being open about your operations, so customers can see and experience your authenticity. I encourage you to read the Honest Tea example in INSPIRE! The companys name and how it operates engenders what I mean by authenticity. Why do some customers drop out during hard times and others stick around? Sometimes customers just cant afford your product so they turn to alternatives or stop buying all together. Thats why more people are buying their coffee at McDonalds today, and fewer people are lining up at Starbucks. But sometimes a customer finds a product that delivers more for their money. Thats about value and why I believe a company needs to focus on delivering more value for price during hard times. Starbucks is trying to do this with its own version of value breakfasts.” Jim Champy is the Chairman of Perot Systems consulting practice, and is recognized throughout the world for his work on leadership and management issues and on organizational change and business reengineering. His first book, REENGINEERING THE CORPORATION: A Manifesto for Business Revolution, sold more than 3 million copies and spent more than a year on The New York Times bestseller list. He is also the author of the bestseller, REENGINEERING MANAGEMENT: The Mandate for New Leadership, which was recognized by Business Week as one of the top ten best business books of 1995.   His columns and articles appear in such magazines as Forbes, ComputerWorld and Sales and Marketing Management. His latest book is called INSPIRE!: Why Customers Come Back.

How Do I Know Which Online Resume Writer Is Best?

How Do I Know Which Online Resume Writer Is Best?If you've been searching for a great online resume writer, you have probably noticed that there are some different writers to choose from. Many of these people make it a point to make sure the resumes look good, but how do you know which one is going to be the best one?First, you need to decide which type of writer you want to use for your online resume. There are some people who write just about any type of resume online, and there are others who specialize in specific types of writing. If you want to get the most work done with your resume, you should look for a writer who has experience in the type of material you have.Sometimes, the best way to make sure you get a good writer is to do research on writing. If you have no idea what kind of resume you want, you can always look at samples to see what types of things other people are using. You can also use the services of a resume writing service to make sure the writer you choose has the experience to write the types of resumes they provide. A good resume writer will have experience working with resumes as well as HTML and XML coding, which are needed when you want to work with the WordPress website format. One of the most important elements of a resume is the type of information you want to put on it. When a writer is creating the resume, they will take your requirements and start making notes about what it would take to make the resume work for you. While you are working with the writer, you will need to give them your specifications about your resume, so they can make it better for you. This is an important part of working with a writer and because they want to make sure you have the complete question, they are going to have to narrow it down and come up with a solution. It may not be the perfect match for you, but it's all part of the process of getting the perfect job. You will be doing yourself a favor if you give the writer the opportunity to take a look at your resume before they start to create it.Another way to make sure the resume is going to be written correctly is to look at the resume and make sure it looks like a professional job is about to go down. One thing a good writer will do is use the words in your resume exactly the way you've written them. If you were to send this job application over to a person without making sure the writer used the word in the right way, it could look quite amateur.Using a paid online resume writer will help you save time and money, but you can still make it look good. Find a writer who will make sure the content of your resume is exactly what you need. You won't have to worry about getting it completely wrong, and you will save time and money as well.As long as you find someone who knows how to write an online resume, you won't have to worry about having a problem. The only thing that matters is getting a job.

Wake Up Your Talents Ways to Make Your Passion for Creating Art Into a Profitable Career - CareerAlley

Wake Up Your Talents Ways to Make Your Passion for Creating Art Into a Profitable Career - CareerAlley We may receive compensation when you click on links to products from our partners. Do you have a talent for art and a passion or it? Do you often refer to yourself as an artist? Do you find yourself wishing that you could turn your painting, sketching nor drawing hobby into a career? Here are some ideas on how to take a fun pastime like sketching, painting and coloring, and turn it into a lifes career in art. Be Creative The simple truth is, creativity breeds creativity, so the more creative things you do, the more inspired you will feel, whether youre going to your favorite art gallery, listening to a great symphony or using the Coloring Book for Me Mandala. (You can learn more about it here.) Creativity should not just be used for your art, it should be your way of life. Trust your inner creative power and let it shine out. Take Internships If you are in art school, take as many internships as you can before your graduate. Dont wait until after the fact, its better to get some under your belt before you leave college. Get experience in galleries with behind the scenes work like marketing, selling and handling. This will stand you in good stead later when youre beginning to sell your own work. Get Commissions Art collectors all over the world are always looking for something unique. Having artists create a special piece just for them is an appealing way for them to add to their collection. When you get a commission you will have to collaborate with the client and base your work of art on his or her specifications. As well as using your creative skills, in this case, you will also need to draw on your communication skills and provide excellent customer service. Network Sometimes you just have to get out of the studio and interact with others. Networking with artists, buyers and writers will be beneficial for your career. You wont sell a single thing unless you draw attention to your art. Mixing with other artists can get you introduced to people who are interested in buying art. Meeting writers can get you publicity in magazines, papers and online. Open a Gallery When you open a gallery you must treat it like a business. That means planning a budget, marketing your creations and drawing buyers. You can also rent space to other artists to help you with the costs. If you cannot afford to rent a space just yet, have exhibitions in your own home. Invite people to an opening either in a designated are of your home, or display your art throughout your living space. If you do decide to make your passion for creating art into a profitable career, bear these tips in mind. You can also make your art profitable by applying for grants or art residencies. There is a myriad of opportunities out there, just be prepared to beat the competition by making your art stand out above the rest. Katherine Daniels would never call herself an artist, but she does enjoy dabbling with watercolors and sketching in her free time. She gets a good response to her work and started selling prints last year. We are always eager to hear from our readers. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or suggestions regarding CareerAlley content. Good luck in your search,Joey Google+

RAF Women Combat Roles Now Open!

RAF Women Combat Roles Now Open! Fantastic news today, as it has emerged that the Royal Air Force (RAF) have opened up combat roles for women. Not only that, but soon the change will be extended to all further branches of the military! As from today, Friday 1st September 2017, the ground force of the RAF will become Britain’s first military force to offer a chance for female applicants serving in combat roles. The initiative was actually announced way back in 2016, by David Cameron, but it was only recently (July) that Michael Fallon announced the move itself. He claimed that everyone should (and will) be given the opportunity to serve, regardless of their gender, and cited this as a defining moment for the RAF. The ReactionThe majority of people seem to have welcomed this as a really positive step. The RAF’s main priority is to patrol and protect RAF maintained airfields and air bases, and there is simply no reason for why gender should place limitations on this. Here at How2Become, we think it’s fantastic tha t RAF women are finally being given a chance to serve in the ground forces. As experts on the selection process, we believe that any women has just as good a chance as any man of passing.Unfortunately, however, there are some critics of the idea. Specifically, several formal commanders of the British forces in Afghanistan have spoken out against the plans, claiming that women simply can’t cope with the physical demands of working in the ground force, and that this could lead to the military being hit by enormous compensation demands. Furthermore, it’s been claimed that, judging by the stress the training puts on even men’s bodies, the training could be extremely difficult for RAF women, and lead them to sustain serious injuries. Finally, it’s also been claimed that in order to compensate for all the previous, the training will naturally become less arduous and demanding â€" resulting in a weakened service overall. Is this reaction fair? Do RAF women deserve more respect? In o ur opinion â€" no. Whilst it’s true that the demands of training for the RAF are extremely tough, there is no reason to think that women shouldn’t at the very least be given the chance to prove themselves. Furthermore, claiming that the training will become less demanding as a result, represents quite a leap in logic, and is fairly disrespectful to the RAF as an organisation, and RAF women. There is no evidence to support the idea that the RAF would allow its standards to slip, as a result of taking female applicants, and in our opinion they should be given the benefit of the (minimal) doubt. If anything, apart from finally giving the women a chance in a significant sector, this change will help to add gender diversity to the armed forces. Differences in gender can account for different ways of thinking, performing and behaving, and there is every reason to believe that by diversifying the ground forces â€" to include women â€" armed forces employees will be benefit strongly from the new ways of processing and dealing with information that women can bring to the service. Every sector of the UK should be constantly aiming to improve, and the armed forces are no exception to this. Here at How2Become, we are fully behind this new initiative, and can’t wait to see it in action!
